Several roadway projects will take place across Camden County during the week of April 13 to April 17, according to a recent announcement. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and consider alternate routes due to various road closures and lane shifts scheduled in multiple municipalities.
Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works, said, “Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations. Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”
The planned work includes full or partial closures on roads such as Haddon Avenue in Camden, Evesham Road in Cherry Hill and Gloucester Township, Kresson Road in Cherry Hill, Park Avenue in Collingswood, Marlton Avenue in Gibbsboro, Nicholson Road in Gloucester City, East Atlantic Avenue in Hi-Nella, West Branch Avenue in Pine Hill, White Horse Road in Voorhees Township, and Mays Landing Road in Winslow Township. Utility work by PSE&G is also scheduled on Park Boulevard and Cooper Landing Road.
The Camden County Department of Public Works maintains over 1,200 miles of county roadway as well as more than 200 bridges and several dams. The department operates from Lindenwold with personnel available around the clock for residents’ needs related to highway construction projects and maintenance services such as pothole repairs and storm drainage upkeep.
Camden County supports over 500,000 residents across its 37 municipalities according to the official website.
