Several roadway projects are scheduled across Camden County during the week of March 9 to March 13, according to a statement from the county. The Department of Public Works will oversee these efforts, which include full and partial road closures in multiple municipalities.
The planned construction is expected to impact travel throughout the area, affecting both motorists and pedestrians. Commissioner Al Dyer, liaison to the Department of Public Works, said, “Motorists should plan ahead to take alternate routes and give themselves plenty of time to get to their destinations. Also, remember that when you’re traveling through a construction area, please slow down and stay alert for crew members and debris.”
Projects will take place in Berlin Township, Camden, Cherry Hill, Collingswood, Haddon Heights, Pine Hill, Voorhees Township, Waterford Township, and Winslow Township. Work includes full road closures on Hopewell Road and Cooper Road in Berlin Township and Waterford; lane shifts on Market Street and Haddon Avenue in Camden; partial closures on Kresson Road in Cherry Hill; full closure of Park Avenue in Collingswood; partial closure on North Park Drive in Haddon Heights; partial closure on West Branch Avenue in Pine Hill; various closures on White Horse Road and Burnt Mill Road in Voorhees Township; as well as work on East Fleming Pike and Mays Landing Road in Winslow Township.
The Camden County Department of Public Works maintains over 1,200 miles of county roadway along with more than 200 bridges and several dams. The department is dedicated to making the area safer for motorists and pedestrians through highway construction projects and ongoing maintenance such as pothole repairs and storm drainage upkeep.
