A message from DPW supervisor Brian McCaffery:
Hello Washington Township residents. We hope that your holiday season is going well. We are monitoring the potential for a significant winter storm next Thursday evening into Friday morning.
Some current models are calling for up to 8 inches of snow. It is very early and this could change significantly but we have to hope for the best and prepare for the worst. If this forecast holds it willimpact our ability to collect the leaves that are out.
I am requesting that residents DO NOT put any additional leaf piles out at this time. Public Works will work diligently to collect all of the leaves that arecurrently out between now and next Wednesday. We will not be following our normal collection schedule.
We may arrive to your development before or after your regularly scheduled day in an attempt to squeeze a week’s worth of work into 3 days.
Next Thursday we will have to break down all of the leaf equipment and switch it over to snow removal equipment. If the weather permits, we will schedule some additional leaf collections in January to accommodate residents who were planning to put out their leaves this week or next.
Thank you for your understanding and we will give additional updates as we get closer to the potential snow event.
