Inspira Health has announced the appointment of Dr. Richard G. Stefanacci as the Medical Director of its Living Independently for Elders (LIFE) program. Dr. Stefanacci will manage the medical aspects of care, focusing on utilization management and clinical outcomes.

Dr. Stefanacci brings decades of experience in developing care delivery systems aimed at improving health outcomes for older adults. As Medical Director, he will implement a quality assessment and performance improvement program and provide leadership by mentoring medical residents. He will also be part of the Inspira LIFE Executive Leadership Team.

“We are beyond thrilled to welcome Richard to Inspira Health,” said Mia Dempsey-Stahl, Executive Director of Inspira LIFE. “As an organization committed to inspiring and empowering healthier communities, Richard’s passion and experience will prove to be invaluable and make a lasting, positive impact on all. We look forward to Richard’s contributions through this pivotal role.”

Dr. Stefanacci's career in geriatric healthcare spans over three decades, beginning with his early experiences working in his family's nursing home. After completing his training at Rowan University, he established a primary care practice before dedicating himself to the Program for All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). Over 25 years, he served as Medical Director for four regional PACE programs and influenced federal policy as a Health Policy Scholar for CMS.

Outside his professional career, Dr. Stefanacci founded the Go4theGoal Foundation in memory of his son. The charity supports children affected by cancer across nearly 100 hospitals nationwide.

"I am honored to accept this new role and join the Inspira team," stated Dr. Stefanacci. "Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work on various care delivery systems, and I am eager to apply that experience at Inspira to help ensure that local, frail older adults can continue living in the community at the highest possible quality of life."

Dr. Stefanacci holds degrees from A.T. Still University of Health Sciences and Keller Graduate School of Management and is affiliated with several professional organizations.

Inspira LIFE offers personalized health care plans for seniors with ongoing health needs in Cumberland, Salem, and Gloucester counties.
