Inspira Health has announced its decision to implement Epic, a leading electronic health record (EHR) system, to enhance patient care and streamline operations. This initiative aims to improve clinician well-being and simplify the healthcare experience for the community served by Inspira Health, which operates four hospitals and numerous access points across South Jersey.
Warren E. Moore, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Inspira Health, stated: “Selecting Epic reflects our continued commitment to improving the health and well-being of our community by placing the safety of our patients and support of our employees at the center of all we do.” He added that this implementation will empower patients with greater control over their health information throughout their healthcare journey.
The key features of Epic include MyChart, a secure portal for patients to manage appointments, view test results, message care teams, and access health information from any device. Additionally, Epic’s interoperability platform, Care Everywhere, facilitates easy information exchange with other health systems. The use of artificial intelligence in Epic is also expected to ease clinicians' tasks and boost operational efficiency.
By adopting Epic, Inspira joins a network of leading health systems nationwide committed to enhancing healthcare quality and efficiency. The implementation process is set to begin later this summer with an anticipated go-live date in summer 2026.
